What is Digibyte and what is all the latest drama?
Digibyte is a crypto currency that has its own blockchain, wallet, and has a passionionate team of developers who
have created applications to protect your privacy/assets like Digi-ID and Digi-Assets.
Digibyte is a completely decentralized open source project,
which means there is no central authority or official Owner/CEO nor a management team.
The Digibyte BlockChain has been around since 2013 and has made great improvements and use cases by
offering innovative methods (Digi-ID) for storing all your Logins/Passwords to your favorite websites without the fear
of having it being hacked/stolen. Your passwords are stored on a the blockchain and you
can now access all your accounts simply by pointing your phone at your monitor. The mission of Digibyte/Digi-ID is to provide
a way for people to take back their online identities. Finally, Digi-Assets is a way of trading digital assets like
photos and documents.
Digibyte has a passionate community of developers, investors, and unfortunately.... moonboys. Haters of Digibyte tend to call these particular
moon-boys "Digi-bots."
What about all the latest drama in the community?
Every so often when a crypto/blockchain has a community with different visions for the future of the project (in this case Digibyte) we get what is called "forks". A fork is when you take the existing code and start making modifications separate from what the intention of the original code. As of late the founder of Digibyte, Jared Tate, has been feuding with a long time supporter/influencer of Digibyte who goes by the name Josiah Spackman. Josiah Spackman claims the founder is preventing progress of Digibyte and even went as far as to call him "insane." Speculation has people leading to believe that the Digibyte blockchain and this drama may lead to an upcoming fork but nothing has been announced or confirmed.
Should we sell our Digibyte or wait for this drama to pass?
In crypto, all publicity is good publicity. Hold your Digibyte. This feud will pass and chances are if you are holding Digibyte, then you have nothing to lose as the price has been lacking any bullish price action for quite some time. In the event there is a fork, its not necessarily a bad thing as we have seen serious gains in price on existing crypto forks like Dogecoin, Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum. No matter whose side you are on in the current drama between Jared and Josiah, we can all agree it is an uncomfortable moment in Digibyte history.
